PROPOLLO, is a SME-AG non-profit organization and the main Spanish poultry producers association, located in Madrid. The association involves 74 enterprises among SME members (81%), other associations and other enterprise members among poultry breeders, fattening farms, and slaughterhouses. Spain is one of the most important areas of poultry production in Europe, as it produces 1,073 kt chicken broilers/year (AVEC, 2012) and employees direct or indirectly 90,000 people. PROPOLLO represents the 97% of the poultry breeders, 95.5% of the fattening farms and the 95.35% of the slaughterhouses and annexes enterprises.
PROPOLLO will lead WP8. The results of the project will help to PROPOLLO memberships by providing the strategies to reduce Campylobacter prevalence in broiler flocks.
